CHALLENGE:
Train 1,400 field technicians on the operation of a newly deployed wireless, handheld device and its field service management software.

OPPORTUNITY:
Provide a blended training solution involving 5 instructors delivering instructor-led training at 55 U.S. and Canadian locations, the development of a custom Computer Based Training application orienting technicians to the hardware, and the management of all travel requirements during the project.

RESULTS:
• Delivered every scheduled training session on time and under budget in three-and-a-half month time frame;
• Saved Honeywell 34% in travel expenses;
• Partnered with Dynamic Digital Design to provide CBT solution that certified every technician on the FEX21 prior to ILT session;
• Provided French-speaking instructor and translated CBT for needs of Quebec-based technicians.

When preparing to introduce a wireless device to 1,400 field technicians throughout North America, Honeywell turned to ExecuTrain for help. The initiative’s challenges included:

ExecuTrain brought in Dynamic Digital Design who developed an inter-active, custom CBT orientation course that certified all technicians on the basic features and usage of the handheld device. ExecuTrain’s trainers then delivered an intense, one-day training course at Honeywell’s North American locations on the FieldCentrix software. In spite of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 ET delivered every scheduled training event with only one location delayed one week. ExecuTrain’s Office of Strategic Training Initiatives saved Honeywell 34.22% in its travel budget and delivered all of ExecuTrain’s FAST project services at 6.63% below budget.
